As part of Unilever’s Sustainable Living Plan, Domestos has committed to helping 50 million people gain access to a safe & clean toilet by 2030. Domestos conducts different projects in different countries globally since 2010. In respect of this global agenda, Domestos school program was launched here in Kazakhstan in 2016.
Thousands of Kazakhstani schools do not have proper toilet conditions, or their hygiene level is drastically low. Children spend half of their day in schools. Mothers cannot control school’s hygiene conditions which worries them. With this program Domestos aims to help schools to improve their toilets hygienic conditions and raise awareness about hygiene importance.
Every year, before the 1st of September, Domestos brand donated its products to thousands of schools in Kazakhstan, educate pupils and service cleaners about the importance of hygiene with the help of special seminars and materials.
Until now, we’ve renovated 8 schools, and donated more than 48 thousand liters of Domestos to more than 2000 schools. Additionally, we gave more than 500 open classes on hygiene to students and service cleaners. As a result of this, Domestos improved hygiene conditions of school toilets for around 2M students by now.
Every year, the brand aims to reach more schools with the program. Domestos, believes that clean school toilets should not be a privilege, and everyone deserves access to better toilet conditions. Since 2016, Domestos reached more than half of Kazakh students, and it is committed to keep fighting until every student in Kazakhstan has access to safe and clean school toilets!
